Back again on the Volvo V50 D5 SE. In this episode, we change the rear wheel bearing, shock absorbers and one of the control arms, also new brake discs and pads. We also had to deal with a badly stuck aluminium rim due to dissimilar metal corrosion between wheel and hub., looks like it has not been off for years.
Nothing particular exciting, but maybe of help for someone.
Unfortunately, 2500 miles later, both (new) rear shock absorbers started leaking, the seller has sent some new ones, we'll see if they last any longer once they fitted. We'll have a closer look at these in another video.

The procedure as shown does apply to Volvo C30, S40, V50 models, also some Ford Focus and Mazda models. Depending on engine and transmission, dimensions might be slightly different, but the general principle is exactly the same.

This particular car is an RHD 2007 Volvo V50 D5 SE with an AW55-51 automatic transmission,
current mileage is around 157000 miles (251000 km)
