On September 10, 2023 I made my first ever visit to New York City to see the annual Parade of Trains, where the New York Transit Museum shows off some of their operating historic subway cars. This year rides were being offered between Kings Hwy and Brighton Beach stations in Brooklyn aboard the BRT Gate Cars, BMT Standards, and R1/R9s. The event looked like a huge success, with crowds of people turning out at every station along the line to watch the trains go by, with passengers packed in tight as if it were a weekday rush hour. After the event concluded, I went back to Manhattan to see the sights and then took the ferry to Staten Island hoping to do some filming of the R44 trains before they are replaced next year - however I had thoroughly exhausted all of my camera batteries and wasn't able to do much. All in all despite some patchy weather it was a fantastic day in the Big Apple and I look forward to returning someday.

In mid-November 2024, I planned a trip up to Philadelphia, PA to see the historic last voyage of the SS United States as it was scheduled to be towed out to sea to become an artificial reef - only for the move to be cancelled at the last minute. It was too late to get a refund on my hotel room, so I made the best of it and went anyways to tour the city and see the various transit, maritime, and historic attractions in Americas first capitol. While there I got to ride on the PATCO Speedline which crosses the river from New Jersey, and the SEPTA [L] Market-Frankford Line, [G] Girard Avenue Trolley, [B] Broad Street Subway, and [T] Subway/Surface Trolley lines.
