I got this clock in that someone tried to repair but didn't succeed. The clock came with 8 Day weights, but the clock was a 1 Day cuckoo quail clock. I had to replace one of the whistle boxes so it would match the other whistle box. It was easy enough to clean and oil, but I did learn something myself.
When I replaced the Quail bird door wire, I just the hole on the bird furthest from the hinge of the door. This caused enough stress on the movement that after the warning pin was triggered, the clock could not finish opening the door for the Quail to chirp and the clock was stuck from any sounds. I moved the door wire next to the hinge and the clock was back working again.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
