I fond this little Nickel plated clock and not knowing a thing about it until now. I did clean all the parts in the movement and got it running again. What I found on the internet was the American Ansonia Clock Co., peak production period 1880s to 1920s. This clock I worked on says it was made in 1877. I do believe this clock was used in the classier kitchens of the rich, because of the musical alarm that was loud enough to hear it from the other room. The alarm could not be shut off, so after it wound down, the music would stop.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
