The Grade II* listed Swindon Health Hydro in Wiltshire was built in 1891 for Great Western Railway workers as part of a pioneering approach to workplace health and wellbeing.
The building originally included a swimming pool, Turkish baths and medical facilities designed to keep workers healthy.
After years of under-investment and water damage had put the site at risk, our #HeritageAtRisk Capital Fund supported structural repairs, roof works, and weatherproofing to help protect the building and its historic interiors for the future.
Future plans include community wellbeing activities, education programmes and increased public access, creating opportunities for local residents, volunteers and employment.
