Spray oil burner demonstration operating in the vertical position on waste Vegetable oil. This burner featured on a couple of previous vids including a how to build tutorial . Please see my vid list on my channel to see how this burner was constructed.

A standard water heater could be used with this burner or it could replace a gas or oil fired burner in a furnace for home or shed heating. The burner will run any sort of waste oil or fluids to provide free fuel and heat for whatever heating purpose is needed. Here it is running on used vegetable oil at an air pressure of about 30 PSI. As can be seen, Even on waste oil it lights quickly and burns cleanly giving plenty of smoke free heat.

$Melting Aluminium with brick furnace oil fired. Melting scrap aluminium for casting with the brick furnace using waste oil as heat source. Waste oil provides a cheap and powerful fuel for melting all metals from aluminium casting through to cast iron. This was the first time I have fired an oil burner in a long time but it lit right up and without trouble. As its been a while I thought Id go over the setup of how this works yet again as I am always getting questions and maybe some people will not have seen my vids before. The Aluminium melted much quicker in the furnace with the waste oil burner firing it up than with the wood I tried last time. I could have done better with the wood but using an oil burner if far easier and provides loads more heat with better control. The furnace is made of Common house bricks. I used a clay and sand mix as a refractory but will re do it using some wire as a binder for it to stick to so it does not crumble as much.$

$Waste oil Burner WVO WMO This is a proto type Waste Oil Burner I made that runs on WVO, WMO or any similar waste liquid. This waste oil Burner uses forced air supplied by a reversed vacuum cleaner and gravity fed Veg oil. The drum is a 60L size and the burner will digest more than 12L of oil an hour at full power with this blower. With the concept proven I will build a more substantial version from a water heater tank and line it with refractory and put more coils in it for heating water for the house for winter and my swimming pool. The water in the bucket was 10L and was boiled in under 5 min. There is still a lot of efficiency to be gained from this setup.$

This furnace is very cheap and easy to make and is ideally suited to those that just want to cast the occasional part and do not want to invest in proper refractory or build a complete furnace. The crucible was made from some thick wall pipe welded to some steel Plate. The burner is the drip style which uses blown air to push the oil into the preheated furnace consisting of a 60L metal drum. The oil burner provides more than sufficient heat to melt aluminum or copper. The brickwork around the drum act primarily as a heat shield rather than for any insulation value. The drum has stood up to over half a dozen fire ups now so is good for a decent amount of time before it eventually burns through. A basic aluminum plate was cast but once the aluminum is melted, a casting of any type can be made in any mold.$
