DIY Waste Oil Burner for high power heating and Melting for scrapping. Firing the waste oil burner running on used vegetable oil This was designed for scrapping Aluminium cans and other metal casting uses. This melts Aluminium supplying free heat from waste oil and is extremely powerful.
Here it is hooked up to a 2.5" 1/2HP air blower to supply oxygen for the waste oil fuel. At the beggining and end of the clip the inlet was blocked off to the blower so the burner was running on minimal air. As can bee seen, as soon as it is given full air, a very loud and pulsing starts. when the air is blocked off, it stops.
The burner will be very powerful if it burns without the pulsing. The main problem with it the way it is relates to the noise. The video of the burner does not come near doing it justice. It sounds like a V8 engine running at 2000 rpm with no headers let alone exhaust.
I'll play some more to see what I can learn but am thinking that taking the output from 2" to 3" may be helpful and allow even higher outputs.
