In this video our expert Niki Jabbour teaches us which vegetables grown best in shade and how to promote their growth.

3 Rules:

1.Think green. Leafy vegetables like kale and lettuce, chard.
2. No fruits. Not enough sun for them. Fruits need many hours of sun.
3. Take care of your soil. Add compost or manure or organic fertilizer to shady areas. If there deprived of sun make sure there not deprived of nutrients too.

Even some herbs like chives will grow in shade. Ask your nursery if you're not sure.
