Experience the full beauty of Valley of Fire State Park in this comprehensive scenic drive through Nevada's oldest and most iconic state park. We begin our journey on Mouse's Tank Road, known for its breathtaking vistas and vibrant sandstone formations. As we go along we’ll see a literal rainbow of reds, greens, pinks, purples, yellows and greens present in the rocks.

From there, we explore every corner of the park, driving the Valley of Fire Highway in both directions to ensure you don't miss a single view. We also venture onto the Scenic Loop Road, a unique, unpaved route that offers a more rugged look at the park’s stunning geology. It's no wonder so many movies are filmed in Valley of Fire!

Throughout the drive, we’ve included frequent side views and scenic stops at the park's many overlooks, capturing the interesting spots that make this desert landscape so special and a photographer's dream. Keep an eye out for the local residents! We were fortunate enough to encounter multiple herds of desert bighorn sheep and have included close-up footage of these majestic animals in their natural habitat.

Our drive from Denver, Colorado, to Salt Lake City begins on I-70 westbound, winding through the majestic Rocky Mountains under a sky that briefly opened with a light rain, casting a misty veil over the rugged peaks and lush valleys. As we ascend through Vail Pass and Glenwood Canyon, the rain clears, revealing vibrant alpine meadows and towering evergreens, and we got close to an active wildfire that sent a faint haze across the horizon. Crossing into Utah the next day, the landscape transformed into a dramatic desert expanse, with red rock formations, the outstanding San Rafael Swell, and vast plateaus stretching endlessly under a blazing sun and a few clouds. Turning north on I-15, we marveled at the stark beauty of the Wasatch Front, its craggy peaks guiding us into Salt Lake City, where the city’s skyline welcomes us after an unforgettable journey. As we wind along the road, the rugged landscapes transition into rolling red cliffs and open vistas, leading us toward the shimmering blue waters of Lake Powell, where we marvel at the serene beauty of this sprawling reservoir framed by stark canyon walls. Continuing on US-89, the terrain shifts again, with sweeping plateaus giving way to the majestic, multicolored cliffs of Zion National Park. Our journey culminates with a breathtaking drive through Zion’s Scenic Drive, where we navigate the winding roads beneath towering peaks and through the historic Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, finally arriving in the charming town of Springdale, nestled at the park’s edge, capping off a long haul through some amazing southwestern landscapes.
