As we wind along the road, the rugged landscapes transition into rolling red cliffs and open vistas, leading us toward the shimmering blue waters of Lake Powell, where we marvel at the serene beauty of this sprawling reservoir framed by stark canyon walls. Continuing on US-89, the terrain shifts again, with sweeping plateaus giving way to the majestic, multicolored cliffs of Zion National Park. Our journey culminates with a breathtaking drive through Zion’s Scenic Drive, where we navigate the winding roads beneath towering peaks and through the historic Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, finally arriving in the charming town of Springdale, nestled at the park’s edge, capping off a long haul through some amazing southwestern landscapes. Zion After a Rare Snowstorm - Utah Scenic Drive

$Why This Drive From the Grand Canyon to Vegas is Pure Desert Magic In this video we make the complete scenic road trip drive from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip. This trip takes us through some of the most iconic landscapes in the American West. We start our adventure at the Grand Canyon’s South Rim before heading south on Arizona Route 64. We’ll see the desert glow as we transition to I-40 and closely follow the historic Route 66 path to Kingman, Arizona at golden hour, just as the sun sets. The drive continues another day as we head north on U.S. Route 93 for a mandatory stop at the Hoover Dam. We’ll take a moment to marvel at this incredible feat of engineering and the massive scale of Lake Mead and the wild Colorado River. We start off on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive which is only open in the winter months to private vehicles. From there we drive Utah Route 9 from Springdale eastbound through the park to the East Entrance Station. We then jump back to the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive and head in the opposite direction before driving westbound on Route 9 and ending in Springdale. Snow melts quickly in Zion, and a lot of the snow in the southern facing areas in the park was already melting in the sunshine when we recorded this drive. The area east of the Zion - Mount Carmel tunnel is a higher elevation and has the most snow.
