3 Hours of Southwest Utah Scenic Desert Mountain Driving 4K @AdventureEveryDay

Take a relaxing 3 hour scenic driving tour through southwest Utah on 3 of Utah's wonderful scenic byways. We begin in the desert and drive through Zion National Park on Utah Route 9 (Zion Park Scenic Byway), then we make our way north on U.S. Route 89 (Mount Carmel Scenic Byway) up to Utah Route 14 (Markagunt High Plateau Scenic Byway) where we climb to almost 10,000' in elevation before dropping down into Cedar Canyon and into Cedar City. From there we head down into the Mojave Desert and the vibrant city of St. George, Utah, then from Hurricane, Utah to Springdale where our journey ends.

This drive was filmed during the month of May.

We start off on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive which is only open in the winter months to private vehicles. From there we drive Utah Route 9 from Springdale eastbound through the park to the East Entrance Station. We then jump back to the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive and head in the opposite direction before driving westbound on Route 9 and ending in Springdale. Snow melts quickly in Zion, and a lot of the snow in the southern facing areas in the park was already melting in the sunshine when we recorded this drive. The area east of the Zion - Mount Carmel tunnel is a higher elevation and has the most snow. Along the way we reach the highest elevation on the Interstate System (11,158) and were treated to 12 miles of pristine natural beauty through Glenwood Canyon which has some of the most stunning scenery of any highway in America.
