Why This Drive From the Grand Canyon to Vegas is Pure Desert Magic @AdventureEveryDay

In this video we make the complete scenic road trip drive from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip.

This trip takes us through some of the most iconic landscapes in the American West. We start our adventure at the Grand Canyon’s South Rim before heading south on Arizona Route 64. We’ll see the desert glow as we transition to I-40 and closely follow the historic Route 66 path to Kingman, Arizona at golden hour, just as the sun sets.

The drive continues another day as we head north on U.S. Route 93 for a mandatory stop at the Hoover Dam. We’ll take a moment to marvel at this incredible feat of engineering and the massive scale of Lake Mead and the wild Colorado River. Finally, we make our grand entrance into Las Vegas, ending our trip amidst the energy of the world-famous Vegas Strip.

We begin in the desert and drive through Zion National Park on Utah Route 9 (Zion Park Scenic Byway), then we make our way north on U.S. Route 89 (Mount Carmel Scenic Byway) up to Utah Route 14 (Markagunt High Plateau Scenic Byway) where we climb to almost 10,000 in elevation before dropping down into Cedar Canyon and into Cedar City. We start off on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive which is only open in the winter months to private vehicles. From there we drive Utah Route 9 from Springdale eastbound through the park to the East Entrance Station. We then jump back to the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive and head in the opposite direction before driving westbound on Route 9 and ending in Springdale. Snow melts quickly in Zion, and a lot of the snow in the southern facing areas in the park was already melting in the sunshine when we recorded this drive. The area east of the Zion - Mount Carmel tunnel is a higher elevation and has the most snow. $4 Hours of Colorado Rocky Mountain Scenic Driving Denver to Grand Junction on I-70 4K 60 FPS Complete 275 mile scenic drive on I-70 westbound through the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Denver to Grand Junction and across the state line into Utah. Along the way we reach the highest elevation on the Interstate System (11,158) and were treated to 12 miles of pristine natural beauty through Glenwood Canyon which has some of the most stunning scenery of any highway in America. This drive was filmed in late January. Apologies for the skips in the video, we tried staying back from the other cars in wet areas but still got splashed with salty water a few times and had to clear the obstructed view.
