When Lou and I heard about the story of this Hawaiian family's farm - how they are battling to save it from developers after 7 years of restoring it back to life... after years of weekly community workshops teaching locals how to engage with the land, grow food with ancient farming techniques, bring poi back as a staple Hawaiian food... after decades of fighting to not only protect Hawaiian agriculture land, the rights of farmers, but also rebuild a culture of people connected to where their food comes from, well, we had to share their story with you. I hope that it moves you in the same way it touched our hearts. This world has so much to learn from indigenous farmers. This project is so much bigger than just one family farm. The work that their non-profit, Hui Aloha Aina Momona, does is incredible for Hawaii and an inspiration for the world.
