Painting a car can be very expensive! So when Lou got a quote to paint our truck for $5,000, he decided it might be worth looking into painting it himself. After a lot of research, he found the supplies he needed and created an at-home DIY painting setup to transform our 1998 Toyota Tacoma. He had originally planned to go with the rattle can method, but after speaking to a guy at the automotive paint store downtown he was convinced to switch to the air compressor route instead. The whole process took 3-4 days plus the previous research and I can't believe how beautifully it turned out.
We still have plans to paint the bed of the truck with the Raptor kit and have a bunch of projects to do as well. The driver's seat door doesn't open from the outside, the speaker on one side broke, the windshield washer jets don't work, etc, but we thought giving our truck a fresh coat of paint would be the most fun to start with and I think we were right :)
Here's the blogpost I wrote about the process: https://www.wildweroam.com/blog/lou-painted-our-old-truck
Hope you enjoy this one!
Big hugs,
Dana
