When you live in a one-room house, with one bed, and a dear friend flies halfway around the world to visit while your wife is pregnant, it only makes sense to give up the bed and find another place to sleep. Most people would have probably just slept on an air mattress, but I wanted to see if sleeping on the floor for a week would have any surprising benefits. Would I feel taller? Would my back feel stronger? Would it be ridiculously uncomfortable? It feels like anytime we stay anywhere overnight I'm always wishing that the mattress was firmer, so I figured, why not see if I could find an easy, portable, sleep solution that I could recreate whenever we weren't at home?
