Unknown wood. Unique smell when turning and sanding, not entirely pleasant, but not quite unpleasant. Almost like you could come to like it eventually. Felt dense like hardwood, but turned very similar to pine or another soft wood.
Sanded to 600 grit using sanding sealer twice during sanding to help stabilize the grain of the bowl. Finished with Ack’s abrasive paste and Ack’s Polish/Restoring Paste.
Final dimensions - 2-3/4 inches tall and 5-13/16 by 5-5/8 inch sides.
