Turning Purple Heart Handle for Carter and Son Lathe Toolset. The wood was purchased from Bell Forest Products, the adapter from Carter and Son, and the aluminum pipe from Amazon. I used a plumbers torch with a heat spreader to darken the wood (missing most footage unfortunately).

The adapter needs a 3/4 inch bore to fit into the wood and the 1 inch inside diameter of the pipe aligns with the outer, exposed edge of the adapter. The pipe is cut 1/4 of an inch longer than the adapter and bore to provide more strength with the pipe ferrule.
