Like the Ultimate Sphere design, this shape uses double rings of 6 magnets, except the modification on this one is simply that the bottom ring of each pair is pressed into a 6 ball triangle. The pairs can then be interconnected the right way to form 12 bubble hemispheres instead of a single sphere, as shown in the video.
360 double rings of 6, forming 72 pentagonal rings of 5, and then 6 pentagonal rings form each hemisphere, and 12 of these hemispheres interconnect to complete the bubble sphere; 12 × 5 × 6 × 12 = a total of 4320 magnets required.
