The first time you land on the switch the game instantly puts you in the cutscene state. However if you land on the switch as the switch is raising back up the game does not put you in a cutscene state. This allows you to side hop pull leaf and once the switch gets fully down the cutscene will start and link will leaf over to the door. In total you have 10 frames from the side hop off the switch to opening the door. However, while in the cutscene the switch timer does not decrease so those frames do not count.
