Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that a connection has been established between Turkey's natural gas network and the network in Syria, and said, “We will soon supply gas to Syria, perhaps they will partner with us for this project and we will be able to provide gas for electricity generation in Syria.”
In Vienna, the capital city of Austria, Minister Bayraktar attended the "Drawing Roadmaps Together: The Future of Global Energy" in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The seminar was organized under the theme "Oil Markets: Energy Security, Growth and Prosperity" panel organized within the scope of the seminar, Minister Bayraktar was joined by Suhail bin Mohamed Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Tarıq Sulieman Ahmad Al-Roumi, Minister of Petroleum of Kuwait, Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Energy of Nigeria, Perviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan and Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India.
Stating that the focus was on Turkey's energy supply security, affordability and decarbonization, Bayraktar said, “By the middle of the century, the Turkish economy will be a carbon neutral economy.”
Bayraktar stated that these three factors support the introduction of more diverse and balanced policies in the energy sector, and that renewable energy is also among the issues being focused on.
