Trolls for C64 by Flair/Hirographics, loaded from tape
What is it with late stage (this one is 1993) c64 platformers and insanely slippery physics? This game really, really wants to be sonic, but forgot to add the weightiness and forgiveness that makes sonic work. Fast slippery phyiscs and one hit deaths - and it not being clear which enemies you can jump on, and which you can't - completly and utterly ruin what would otherwise be an absolutely excellent game.
It's so close... I can see why some reviewers forgave these sins and gave it 90%+ scores, because if you can get to grips with the phyiscs, there is a good game in there, but the physics are absolutely maddeningly bad, and the difficultly is unforgivable - you never feel like you're in control of the game, and you always feel like deaths are just not related to much of anything you did.
Such a shame :(
