International Soccer by Commodore/CRL, loaded from tape
This is an interesting one, as most people I know would have only seen this on cartridge - I know I had, until I ran across this tape. But it was released in the UK on tape by CRL - in 1988, no less, so five years after the general release! With a loading/title screen and everything!
Of course they changed the billboards. But at least they're not 1103 ;).
This would not be the last release of the venerable game - it was a launch title for the ill fated c64gs in 1991. There are rumours about why this was, but it was shipping with c64s as the pack in title in australia, at least, as late as 1990, so it's not so ridiculous that they'd keep doing that. And honestly, while a dated game - it's no microprose soccer or emlyn hughes - it's a fun kick around, and especially on a cartridge that pluged and played, it worked out pretty well.
Also don't try and take a phone call whi;le playing international soccer ;)
