I'm taking a break from uploading Christmas stuff to give you a present: the truly tremendous Tiny Tim TV Treasury commercial!
Anyone who enjoyed the appearances of the former Herbert Butros Khaury on the Howard Stern Show knew that he was a unique individual, even beyond his outlandish look and peculiar voice. This 90 second LP ad--which I'm pretty sure is from 1985, but maybe '86--only enhances that reputation, especially when he sings "Baby Face" to a Red Fraggle doll (which appears to be terrified that Tim is going to bite her face with his gnarly choppers). Add his inept but enthusiastic lip-syncing, and the hysterics that accompany his version of "Happy Days are Here Again," and this makes for quite an entertaining minute-and-a-half.
We lost TT just over 28 years ago, sadly. Here's to you, Mr. Khaury--we're still thinking of ya! I hope they have the good Job Squad paper towels in heaven!
