This is "Thundercats - The Lost Eye Of Thundera" for the Amstrad CPC released back in 1987 by Elite Systems.

Certainly not the best CPC game but haunted my time back in the days and its music is still making the hair on the back of my neck rising.
The game is a side scrolling slash 'em up.
It can be very unforgiving in places and you must keep your reflexes alerted all the time.
I used level 13 as a way to gather some lives instead of trying to rescue Wilykit for bonus points.
