It's the first THSC challenge of 2025! It was Acidonia150's turn to choose and he went with Baraduke AKA Alien Sector, released in arcades in 1985 by Namco.
The game consists of eight stages, each stage is split up into six floors, with five regular floors and a boss floor. In the first four floors in each stage, the player must clear the floor of Octy, then they can exit the level through a chute located at the outside walls of the level. In the second last floor, there are no Octy but lots of capsules, which can hold one of four things: a yellow coin object which gives the player 100 points, a ray gun that increases gun level by one, a Paccet, which can earn you extra shield in the end-of-floor bonus games or the Bagan, which is a Pac-Man-like creature that will attack the player. Destroy 10 Octy to get a 10K bonus then 20 for a 20K bonus!
This game I found tricky with janky controls, I put in a good few runs but never managed to get the 10K bonus which is essential to get anywhere on the high score table, anyway here's my run....
