SPOLOUS II is a side-scrolling 2.5D doujin shmup indie PC game developed by suppon. Stylistically inspired by classic arcade franchises like Gradius and Thunder Force....
This is class! Gradius/Nemesis is one of my favourite shmup's and this game is a excellent nod to it and other similar titles.
Players start with a choice of 3 ships but can accumulate in-game credits to unlock up to 14 different playable ships, each featuring distinct weapon types, charge shots, or lock-on lasers, etc. You can also unlock perks like continues, boss energy bars etc.
Graphics are great with a awesome soundtrack composed by Naoya Kamisaka, it plays great too with responsive controls, even when the screen is full of enemies and bullets you never feel overwhelmed and the best thing is it's FREE! Here's a quick look at the first few levels....
Grab the game here suppon.itch.io/spolous-ii

0:20 Stage 1
3:45 Stage 2
6:20 Stage 3
