Braced Sartorius Raises... continuing my tradition of showing you how to work muscles you may not even know you had... :)

In a lean person, you'll see the Sartorius as the long strap-like muscle that runs from the outer hip, over the upper thigh then down the inside of the quads, all the way across the knee joint.

This is a banded external hip rotation exercise with the working leg braced against the rail of the power rack to keep it in position and really allow you to work the target muscle without the band pulling your leg to the side.

This makes a BIG difference in how effective this rotational exercise is.

This movement does bring in other hip stabilizing muscles (like the hip flexors and external rotators), making it excellent for hip strengthening and rehab work.

I'm half standing (squatting down a bit but it could be done seated as well if that's an issue). I like standing because it also makes you stabilize the other hip as well.
