Here's how to make the best Orange Julius you'll ever have

This Orange Julius is not too different from many of the copycat recipes online, however, it was designed to be as close to the original in flavor and texture without using 20 ingredients. It's also almost the exact same calories, sugar, fat and protein as the original. The key to this is the ratio of liquid to ice and the amount of time spent blending the drink. I've included 3 recipes. The original Orange Julius, a Dirty Orange Julius with rum, and a tropical strawberry version as well.

70 grams of granulated sugar
25 grams liquid egg whites (1 oz)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp xanthan gum
200 grams ice (about 1 3/4 cups)

58 grams of granulated sugar
25 grams of liquid egg whites
111 ml white rum (3.75 oz)
37 ml orange curaçao (1.25 oz)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp xanthan gum
225 grams ice

210 ml orange juice (7.1 oz)
93 ml 2% milk (3.1 oz)
43 g granulated sugar
30 ml passion fruit syrup (1 oz)
23 g liquid egg whites
111 ml white rum (3.75 oz)
37 ml orange curaçao (1.25 oz)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp xanthan gum
150 grams frozen strawberries
100 grams ice
