Can you put dishwasher salt on your chips? To find out, Jimmy heads to Sicily, where he's surprised to find his final destination isn't the sea, but the high mountains of the interior. He travels deep underground to an extraordinary salt mine, where he discovers a vast network of tunnels leading to an entire subterranean salt processing plant.
Kate's looking at free range hens, and is surprised to learn most chicks on British hen farms have their beaks trimmed at birth. It sounds unpleasant, but could there be a good reason for such a painful-sounding procedure? Kate's journey takes her to Holland, and a new cutting-edge hen farm designed using the latest scientific advances in hen welfare.
And Matt's in Scotland, investigating Haggis. He makes a surprising discovery about the dish's true origins – and then faces the nerve-shredding ordeal of delivering some highly unwelcome news to an unsuspecting audience…
