Kate investigates why the ice cream in your freezer can sometimes go a bit gritty way ahead of the Best Before date – and discovers the incredible lengths some ice cream makers go to in keeping their products as smooth as Barry White.

Meanwhile, Matt asks what the difference is between the supermarkets' premium and budget ranges of frozen peas, and discovers that failing to get peas from field to freezer in time can cost farmers a fortune.
