The Talented Mr Hack may be the most unhinged segment of the entire show! Hudson realizes he can't be everywhere his celebrity status demands him to be, thus he hires a lookalike to be him where he doesn't want to be him. Which goes swimmingly, until the imposter proves to be a better Hudson than Hudson. With this segment, we finally get the Hudson I think the previous episodes were hinting at. Say goodbye to the jerk with a heart of gold who puts his friends first. This is the douchebag you'd expect, concerned about himself and him alone. To the point when he decides he needs a doppelganger, he kidnaps a country hick named Hack, then forces multiple surgeries on him to make him look and act like Hudson! In a sequence that's on par with if not a little more demented than Fergy beating a fruit bowl to death! Of course, Hack gets all the unglamorous stuff Hudson doesn't want to do, and is even expected to be Hudson's personal servant after all the garbage he has to go through. I could go on the same rant I did with Fergy, where this feels like flanderization if not straight up character assassination, but Hudson doesn't have as much of a reputation to ruin. And in a strange way, I kind of like douchebag Hudson. Where it's understandable why Hack goes rogue and completely takes over Hudson's life, putting the real thing in the basement and trapping him there with a marathon of his greatest moments that the egotist can't tear himself away from. Which is absolutely hilarious, and an early reference to YouTube. That, in case you forgot or are too young to remember, was once an unknown, struggling video hosting site. Hard to believe, I know. But Hudson does manage to finally break away, and let's just say things still don't end well for him. Yeah, this segment is another one you have to see for yourself. And it's my head canon that the segments where Hudson is an absolute jerk take place before this segment, and the ones where he's a nice guy are after Hack has stolen his life.
