The more separated your hair is, the more fullness and volume you’re going to have.
When clumps get too big, they get heavy. And heavy clumps tend to stretch, elongate, and fall flat.
That’s why I look for balance:
not too clumpy, not too stringy.
I scan for any oversized clumps and gently break them up, especially while the hair is still sectioned. It’s so much easier to adjust now than after everything dries.
Smaller, even clumps:
create more lift
reduce heaviness
give a fuller overall shape
Clumping isn’t about perfection.
It’s about finding that middle ground where your curls stay light, defined, and voluminous.
