After doing a food challenge about 20 minutes earlier I headed just a mile up the road to Spank's Franks in Campton, KY to attempt their Hellfire Challenge. As you know, I do not like extremely spicy challenges but this one was just a couple minutes away and I threw caution to the wind. The Hellfire challenge consists of a chili dog saturated in Hellfire hot sauce that is 6.66m scovilles. There is a 10 minute time limit and a 1 minute afterburn period. If successful I will get the meal for free, go up on their Wall of Flame, and a very rough ride home! The chili was delicious (before the addition of the hot sauce) and is a family recipe handed down from Crystal's great grandmother from Italy. Thank you to owner's James and Crystal for welcoming us to their restaurant and for their Kentucky hospitality!
