The zombie loses initiative on purpose. It never checks morale. It's immune to sleep and charm. Every one of those rulings is a design decision that tells you how the monster is supposed to play — attrition, not tactics; inevitable, not threatening. Learn to read the zombie and you can read the ogre, the medusa, and everything else in the book as intent instead of raw numbers.
