Here is the second in a series of videos taken from a two day recording session I did last week - 10 tracks for a Shadows album, for one of my bands - 'Cliff As If & The Golden Shadows'.
I joined the band just before the pandemic, did three shows with them, and now of course like everyone else, we are in limbo.
I guess it could be said that this is one of the more straightforward Shadows tracks to play. That said, I find all of these tough. Copying Brian Bennett is a joy. In this one, I love the dynamics of the two soft passages. Use headphones if you can - I like the sound of my second floor tom each time I go into the quiet section :)
Hope you enjoy this. I'll be releasing probably half a dozen or so of of the 10 Shadows recordings I did last week, as YouTube videos - so long as they are interesting!
The backing track is original Shadows, with the drums (mostly) removed. So what you hear on this video is 95% my drums, and just a few artefacts from the original drums. I used XTrax Stems II software.
