Here's 1 change I've made that has helped me stop losing sales: set the frame early and stop trying to be their friend.
From my own experience, I’ve had people turn a sales call into a therapy session. While I always want to be compassionate, that’s not the right approach.
I've learned that I have about 30 to 60 seconds to build rapport, then it’s time to set the frame and let them know what the call is about.
A solid go to line I use to build authority and set the frame is, “We’ve helped clients like X, Y, and Z achieve the outcome you're looking for. Let’s see if we can do the same for you.”
In the first three minutes, set the tone and keep the call focused on what we're there to achieve. Just my experience, do whatever you want.
