James "Mob James" McDonald was working as head of security at Club 662 in Las Vegas the night Tupac Shakur was shot in 1996. He wasn't at the shooting, but he testified that people returned to the club saying Tupac had been shot — and was expected to survive.

McDonald said that when people returned to Compton, tensions escalated into what he described as a "gang war," with people hunting for members of rival neighborhoods.

Nearly 30 years later, McDonald was ordered to testify under subpoena in Duane "Keffe D" Davis' murder trial — and he wasn't happy about it. As Davis' defense attorney questioned him about what happened after Tupac's shooting, McDonald repeatedly resisted answering questions he believed could hurt Davis.

"I don't want to send him to prison, even though we don't like each other," McDonald told the court.
