Teens participate in a gruelling high-stakes contest where they must continuously walk or be shot by a member of their military escort.
Distillery VFX was the sole visual effects studio behind The Long Walk, delivering a total of 338 VFX shots, with 315 shots making it into the final film. Their work focused on creating seamless, invisible visual effects that enhance the story without drawing attention to themselves.
The team handled a wide range of VFX work, including environment extensions, digital aging of locations, weathering, blood and gore enhancements, gunshot impacts, CG birds, bees, rain, rainbows, digital cleanup, paint-outs, and complex compositing. They also recreated several blue-screen reshoots and built the film's final endless road sequence entirely in CG while keeping it visually realistic.
