In 1942, Japanese ship Lisbon Maru with British POWs was torpedoed. Dongji fishermen saved 300+ British soldiers and protected 3 during Japanese searches.

StaticVFX was responsible for creating the hero asset of the project — the historical ship Lisbon Maru, a 140-meter vessel developed with 240 UDIMs for highly detailed texturing to meet the demands of various shots.

In addition to the hero asset, StaticVFX handled multiple aspects of the production including layout, set extensions, crowd work, animation, water simulations, and final compositing. The studio’s work played a crucial role in bringing scale, realism, and cinematic depth to the visuals.

The project stands as a result of strong collaboration and coordinated efforts, delivering high-quality VFX across complex sequences.

Cyborgs and synthetics exist alongside humans, but the game is changed when the Prodigy Corporation unlocks hybrids. The first hybrid prototype named Wendy marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutanis spaceship collides into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms, which are more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined. FIN Design & Effects worked from pre-production through final delivery to create the MorrowArm, a key hero asset defining the series’ visual language. The asset appears in 300+ shots and was developed by a team of nearly 100 artists across design, modeling, rigging, lookdev, lighting, and compositing. The arm blends mechanical and organic elements, featuring a silicone-like outer layer over hybrid internal components suspended in gel. Translucent, Giger-inspired materials with visible inner mechanics helped achieve a distinct biomechanical look while staying true to the Alien franchise’s design DNA. Photorealism was achieved through extensive lighting and shader development, balancing opacity, transparency, and refraction across 30+ lighting environments. Actor roto-animation and digital doubles ensured accurate match-move, while CG animation restored subtle hand and finger motion limited by on-set prosthetics. A plate-driven lighting workflow, automated simulations, and optimized rendering pipelines allowed the asset to hold up even in close-ups, with final renders averaging ~10 minutes per 4K frame. In parallel, Fin Design & Effects also created large-scale future environments for Weyland-Yutani’s city, evolving Chicago into a near-future corporate capital using plate-extracted lighting and deep compositing.
