Over the years I have seen several project where the plan was to either rebuild the entire game in Unreal Engine 5 or just to rebuild a certain map or specific mechanics but unfortunately most of those projects are either not very well done or just get abbandoned in the end due to it beind waaaay too much work. So you can imagine how happy I was when I discovered that there is an Unreal Engine 5 rebuild project that is actually sort of "finished" and playable!
Don't expect any real gameplay from this game though of course, there aren't really any mechanics or levels properly build, but as a little showcase of what's possible and making us discover the castle HUB map that we all know so so well from years of playing the basegame it was honestly pretty awesome! Just a very cool feeling to play through a newly made game and recognize all the areas because they are rebuild incredibly faithfully and look very similar to our childhood memories.
My only big complaint would honestly be about the performance since it was pretty awful for big parts of this no matter how low I put the settings. I think the game is just inherently unoptimized, also probably due to the engine it's on, which took away a bit from the playing experience and the fun of discovering this map. Overall still a great experience though, very much enjoyed this little rebuild!
