This is not a creature of War of the Worlds, but an armored cupola with a 15cm gun. It was once part of Fort bij Velsen (1885). Three of these guns defended the entrance of the North Sea Canal. In 1983 the fort was partly demolished, but this gun was saved. It had a range of 8 km.
