Yes, I really am doing low level DDS2.
I'm currently nearing the end of a trial run in normal mode, the actual run will of course be in hard. I think this game is much nicer to play LL than DDS1 - although it's got a hard mode there are a lot of features to make up for it: karma rings, stat gems, the impel stone, and most importantly a way to get AP without gaining XP (as shown in the video. In DDS1 you don't get AP if you don't kill the Mitama)
The main story is simple enough with a couple of trickier fights (hello Vritra) but the optional bosses are why the big grind is necessary. I'm definitely going to need Life Gain/Surge on everyone as well as Titanomachia on Seraph. I'm praying I can avoid having to grind for Salvation and get away with just using the Mediarahan/Samarecarm combo. As with the Demi Fiend in DDS1 those fights will definitely require a little stat maxing, mostly just magic and vit.
