Rules:
- This is a low level run of zombero's hardtype mod: romhacking.net/hacks/3299
- The aim is to keep XP gain as low as possible without affecting my sanity.
- Hard mode, obviously
- No stat boosting items
- All other game mechanics are fair game!
Hardtype changes:
- HP: 3000 → 6000
- XP: 1000 → 1800
Kin-Ki is by far the most threatening of the 3 Oni minibosses. He hits like a truck and buffs every round, so it's essential to keep up with his buffs so he doesn't overwhelm you. The aim is to keep my team's parameters at +2 and his at -1. However, even this doesn't guarantee survival once he starts casting Dragon Eye, so you want to rush him down as fast as possible at that point. Fortunately, Force Boost Tornado makes relatively short work of him, even with a low magic stat. Fishing for freezes with Bufula is also nice here, allowing you to crit through his resistance. I will bear this in mind and maybe use it on later bosses with physical immunity.
I could've reset for Void Elec at the end, but I already had enough good luck for one day and this fight is too annoying and luck-based to retry repeatedly. I'll get it on an easier fight (maybe White Rider).
