San Diego's Tecolote Canyon has a long history, going back centuries. Once the site of a Kumeyaay village, it has since been home to ranching, motorcycle races, a university, a golf course, ghost stories, and the schemes of city politicians.

Thousands of people pass through the canyon every day, but very few are aware of the history that is all around them.

In this video, we start at the Tecolote Nature Center and walk into the canyon, exploring it's trails while we talk about it's history using some of the research my dad, who was born and grew up near the canyon, did.
