Test your mental strength and physical focus with this Jedi Mind Power Yoga practice filmed on location at Monahans Sandhills, Texas. When everything around you is shifting, this class builds inner stability through the practices of holding intensely challenging poses and flowing through thoughtful vinyasa sequences. Dedicated to my son Jacob, who inspired this class, join me on your mat to find your focus!
As you take in the spectacular landscape of Monahans, transport yourself to the distant desert planet of Tatooine and tap into the “jedi mind.” As we move our focus steadily from the external landscape to the internal horizon, The Discipline Flow requires unwavering focus, and intense physical discipline. We will be using extended, long holds to challenge the body and quiet the mind. When the mental noise is really loud, your true power comes from the stillness you create within.
Expect a grounding, intense power yoga practice that includes core conditioning, with postures like plank, side plank, boat and more. Challenge the large leg muscles in Warrior 2 pulses and wide squat heel lifts. Lock in full body integration with Warrior 3 and take the big challenge of holding an inversion like Sirsasana/Headstand pose; (find a wall nearby!). You will have many opportunities to test your composure under pressure.
