One of the refutations against Penal Substitution is that the payment of Jesus would be insufficient to cover every sin for every person who has ever or will ever live.

However, if we consider it further, this is not a problem. There are two answers:
1. The infinite value of Jesus
2. The infinite value of the suffering of Jesus

The depth of the suffering of Jesus was more than enough to compensate for the punishment of our sins.
