What is Critical Race Theory? Basically, it is the idea that we should look at everything in our society through the lens of racial discrimination.
In this session, we consider the CRT definitions of such terms as race, racism, standpoint epistemology, etc. We also consider how CRT appears in daily life, such as the school district in Portland that is questioning the adoption of the evergreen tree as its mascot because of possible connotations to lynching.
CRT is incompatible with the gospel. The goal of CRT is bringing about a utopia through equity in redistribution of wealth and status. However, the goal of the gospel is to change the heart of man.
