Intersectionality is inconsistent! Intersectionality is part of critical theory, which is the Marxist idea that population should be divided between "oppressor" and "oppressed" groups. The more points, or intersections, of oppression you have, the more society should intervene to give you outcomes equal to or above your oppressors.
A recent social media post from the Girl Scouts congratulating Amy Coney Barrett for her confirmation to the Supreme Court illustrated this. They were understandably celebrating the appointment of a woman (because she has the intersectionality point of being an oppressed woman). However, they took the post down after receiving negative feedback. Many folks thought they should not celebrate ACB because of her conservative tendencies.
So, what is more important--that she is a woman or that she is a conservative? Intersectionality is fine, apparently, as long as someone is a political and moral liberal. The very people who would fight to equalize intersectional outcomes suddenly don't apply them to conservatives. Political liberalism is, therefore, the litmus test for intersectionality. None of the "oppressed" groups matter unless the oppressed person is a liberal.
