Rep. Emanuel Cleaver ended his opening prayer for the 117th Congress with "Amen and A-Woman." What a joke, and a sorry one at that!

(By the way, in the video I said January 3, 2020. I meant January 3, 2021. Trying to start the new year off without perfection!)

While he was trying to make a pun, it was irreverently stupid. Not only is prayer not a joking matter, but it comes at a time when Nancy Pelosi has introduced changes to the House rules stripping them of all gender-specific language. Even it the joke were funny, it was in distaste for an ex-pastor and member of the House of Representatives.

Then to top it off, he addressed the prayer to "Brahma" as well as generically to any other god you can think of. In essence, his prayer was nothing more than pious rambling. He should be as ashamed of himself as I am of my government representatives.
