There is one thing that could destroy Christianity--the Achilles' heel to the whole belief system--and that is if someone could produce the body of Jesus.
However, for almost 2,000 years, no one has been able to do this.
Some skeptics have posited some explanations for the empty tomb.
1. It was the wrong tomb
This idea is preposterous because everyone know the location of the tomb. The friends of Jesus knew it, the enemies of Jesus knew it, and the angels who talked with the women knew it. Besides, the grave clothes were there. What other explanation is there for that?
2. The disciples stole the body
This is ridiculous for several reasons. First, the origin of this lie is explained in the Bible. Second, the disciples transformed their lives--they knew the resurrection was a fact. Third, explain to me how the disciples sneaked past the Roman guards to whisk away the body of Jesus! Fourth, it would have been somewhat difficult for Jesus to appear in person to hundreds of people if His dead body was hidden in someone's cellar.
3. The swoon theory
Maybe Jesus merely swooned on the cross and revived in the cool of the tomb. That is also ridiculous for several reasons. First, there is absolutely no evidence for this. Second, as we have seen in a previous video, Jesus died completely. Third, it would have been impossible for Him to escape the tomb. Fourth, the believers anticipated being raised like Jesus. I don't think that would have been so exciting if He would have emerged from the tomb a bloody, weak, and fragile mess.
